Kobus is defending Eisenhower Medical Center from a class seeking more than $500 million in damages as a result of the theft of a computer containing limited demographic information on more than 500,000 individuals. The Law360 article quoted a number of Kobus&rsquo; clients, including Amy Stanphill, deputy general counsel for Eisenhower: &ldquo;He took my panic level down 10 notches,&rdquo; said Stanphill. &ldquo;His demeanor, knowledge and proficiency in this area of the law is really what gives me great comfort.&rdquo; Law360 also quoted Kobus&rsquo; client Jason Straight, senior vice president and chief privacy officer at legal services provider UnitedLex Corp, who said Kobus is a true counselor to his clients, in the traditional sense of the word. &ldquo;He has a strong ability to bring calm and confidence to a very chaotic situation,&rdquo; Straight said. &ldquo;He's able to really help them look a few moves ahead at all times and be prepared for what's coming.&rdquo; Under Kobus&rsquo; leadership, the BakerHostetler team has defended and counseled clients through dozens of investigations in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services&rsquo; Office for Civil Rights and Office of the Inspector General, as well as the Department of Education, Federal Trade Commission and state Attorneys General.
